Commissions
Would you like your favorite animal or pet's portrait painted just for you? My commissions are available for animal portraits. Please thoroughly read the information below before submitting a request.

Wildlife Portraits
Pricing
Watercolor wildlife commissions are currently available on 100% cotton watercolor paper in the following sizes. Prices include domestic shipping within the U.S., but excludes sales tax, international shipping, and VAT fees.
-
5x7" $140
-
8x10" $280
-
9x12" $370
Subject
Commissions are currently available for animal portraits of most wild bird and mammal species. Other wildlife species are available on a case-by-case basis based on the complexity of the subject and may require an additional fee. The artist may decline commissions based on subject if she does not believe she can paint the client's chosen subject adequately.
Reference
The client will have approval over the reference image used if desired. The artist must be able to find a copyright-free image of the chosen species from which to work. Copyrighted reference images may available for an additional licensing fee.
Line Drawing
The client will have approval over the line drawing. Due to the nature of watercolors, once the line drawing has been approved, the position and anatomy of the subject cannot be changed.
Color Palette
The client may chose if they would like a natural or whimsical color palette, and they may specify if they have favorite or least favorite colors. They may also choose if they would like a white background, solid background, or color splash background.
Based on that information, the artist will provide the client with several color palette options from which to choose. Clients will have approval over the final color palette. Due to the nature of watercolors, once the color palette has been approved, it cannot be changed.
Commission Concept Approval
Commission concept approval indicates that the client has approved the line drawing and color palette, and the commission has been paid in full (see below). Once a commission has been approved, the artist will begin work on the final painting.
Payment
-
Commissions are available on a first come, first serve basis. Requests will be responded to in the order that they are received. Commissions are only confirmed after payment is received.
-
All commissions must be purchased through the artist's Etsy shop. A custom listing will be made once the commission has been approved.
-
Once the listing is created, the client will have 72 hours to purchase their commission. If the client does not claim their commission in that time, the artist will move to the next person on the waitlist, if applicable.
Final Approval
-
The commission will be completed in the time frame that was agreed upon before payment was received, typically 4-6 weeks.
-
When the artist has finished the painting, a digital image of the painting will be sent to the client for final approval. Minor changes can be made at this time per the client's request, but note above that the line drawing, anatomy, and color palette cannot be changed at this point.
Deadlines
-
If you have a personal deadline, such as a birthday or anniversary, please convey this information before the commission has been approved to insure the artist can deliver your artwork in time.
-
Christmas Deadline for U.S. Clients: All commissions must be approved and paid for by November 1 to be guaranteed to arrive before December 25.
-
Christmas Deadline for International Clients: All commissions must be approved and paid for by October 1 for their best chance to arrive before December 25. Every effort will be made, but international orders cannot be guaranteed for holiday delivery.
